Paris!!

Hi everyone! Paris is fantastic.  Between all of the awesome art museums, the delicious treats, and the metro (I love trains / subways) there is always something exciting to see and do.  Even getting a crepe with nutella and banana to go as we take a walk from one monument to the next is fun for me! I have been all over (as I am sure you can seen with my photos I posted)!  Everyday we wake up and make a little list (from the big list I have) and then go see everything there is to see! It is great.  I have something called a museum pass (because I don't have my stamp for studying in Scotland yet) this pass gets me into almost all of the museums and a bunch of monuments.  You can choose how many days it is for and then for those days you can have unlimited access to those places.  I really loved the Orsay Museum because it was a lot easier to see everything and get around than the Louvre which is gorgeous, but the fact that it was once a palace means it has beautiful ceilings so I get distracted from other art easily.

Five Fun Facts I have learned while in Paris:

1. There is pink toilet paper
2. Crepes are even more amazing (I wish I could eat them every meal)
3. Nutella was invented in Italy
4. The public transportation system is amazing
5. The bakeries here are even better than I anticipated!

Here are some pictures of yummy baked goods I have gotten to eat so far!

My Bags Are All Packed!

I have finished all of my packing and with some hard decisions of what to bring and what I can live without (aka my camping and climbing stuff) I finished.  I have just what you see here.  My blue backpacking pack and brown bag for carry-ons, then my black suitcase to be checked.  I learned that since I last flew out of the United States they have changed the international baggage policy from 2 free checked bags to one.  This is fine for me when I leave the country, but I have a feeling coming back might be a tad more difficult!  I leave tomorrow to head to Chicago for my flight to Paris.  Hopefully I won't be too Jet-lagged.  My flight leaves at 5pm and lands in Paris at 8am there (so around 2am here)....oh well that's what college has prepared me for I guess, here goes not sleeping for 36 hours! I'll update all of you as soon as I can!

Busy Busy

I know I haven't blogged recently but I have been crazy busy! First I went up to Superior for a few days then back home to Madison.  There was some crazy adventures happening.  First while I was up in Superior the weather was CRAZY!! There were ducks on Lake Superior in January! Yikes! (notice the picture!)

Then Cami and I went skiing but it was more like sliding down a hill of melting ice. However the sunset was very pretty so instead of slipping you can look at my picture of that!
After my time in Superior, Cami and I drove down to my house.  We picked the worst possible time because it was a SNOWSTORM and it took us 8 hours when normally it takes around 5 1/2 hours.  Luckily we made it and the next week decided to go visit friends in Chicago.  While we were there we visited the Bean, the Shed Aquarium, saw White Tigers, and played around in the clear boxes at the top of the Willis/ Sears Tower!

Well that's all for now! I head to Paris, France on Wednesday (3 days)!
